Not knowing the area and wanting to stay somewhere close to the Organ Pipe NP I booked this Best Western over their internet. I will stop in Tucson or Yuma next time I need a room nearby. The unit was still spewing pieces of this stuff after he left. The "maintenance" person came in and poked around, swept up the chunks, and left.
The air conditioner/heater was spewing out dirty chunks of some lint like substance. You could feel the room vibrate when the train went by. Each one blasted a loud horn which woke me, but not my wife. There were at least 5 trains that rolled through after I turned the lights out. The railroad tracks must be right behind the hotel. We could hear footsteps outside our room and the traffic from the street. This cleared after about 2 hours and was fine until morning when we could smell it again, but less strong. It was so bad it was like a feed lot was next door. The Bad: When we first arrived, the outside air smelled strongly like cow manure. On the flip side, there was a lot to complain about. The breakfast food was excellent and the wait staff was friendly and competent. I really enjoyed my chicken fried steak and eggs.

We were pleasantly surprised to find that our free "continental" breakfast was actually a full cooked breakfast. The Good: The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. I try to see the positive, so here's my best shot at the good aspects of our stay. I was traveling with my wife and 2 kids (3 and 7) to San Diego from Texas and decided to stay in Gila Bend to break up the trip. Just keep going there are towns about 20 miles away in every direction with much better options. "You can not order the ribeye anyway anyhow with the free breakfast cupon" Breakfast was mediocre and given the fact you have to pay close to $ 100 a night it is definitely not worth the price. I went ahead and tried to order the ribeye and told them I wold be happy to pay an extra $ 5 or $ 10 because I really wanted the ribeye. When I gave my cuponto the hostess she said you can order anything on the menu except the ribeye. I went to breakfast anticipating the ribeye.
I had a different room but the exact same problems with the heat. SO on the way back I was again at Gila Bend when I was ready to call it a day. The next morning I went to breakfast and ordered ribeye and steak and it was pretty good. It was too noisy to sleep throuhg so you had to turn it off. It would blow for about two minutes make a HUGE racket and then turn off for 15 minutes without ever really heating up the room.
THe heat came from the Air Conditioner but it pretty much never came. The room was OK with the exception of the Heater/A/C.

I stayed here on the way to California and it was almost $ 100, which was pretty pricey for a Best Western, howver they gave me a cupon for free breakfast at their restaurant.
